Trentodoc sparkling wines? With the Ferrari brand they can now be considered the best in Italy and among the greatest in the world. And yet another confirmation comes from a wine guide signed by an expert, Luca Gardini, the current world champion sommelier. He wrote, along with great tasters like Pierluigi Gorgoni, Andrea Grignaffini and Marco Pozzali the '"Encyclopedia of Wine" (1016 pages, Dalai publisher, € 35.00), a comprehensive volume in which the sommelier using 15 years of research explains the 3000 best wines in the world.

A massive undertaking, without doubt, that among many labels also glorifies the  Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore. According to Gardini this wine, vintage 1993, is once again not only the first of Italian sparkling wines, but  it is among the one hundred greatest wines in the world. It is the only Italian label of dry sparkling wines in this select category.
For the record, Luca Gardini awarded the Port Vintage Nacional 2003 of  Quinta Do Noval as the best wine in the world.

Il Sole 24 Ore and L'Espresso won the fifth edition of the Ferrari Prizes  "Title and Cover of the Year", organized by the Trentino winery to emphasize the creativity of newspapers and magazines. Both the editorial staff will receive 1,000 Ferrari bottles.
Il Sole 24 Ore won with "HURRY UP," the title chosen by the panel for this reason: "A huge banner headline borrowed from il Mattino di Napoli newspaper the day after the earthquake in Irpinia in order to explain the seriousness of the situation in which Italy found itself on November 10, 2011. Voted for the first time, unanimously, it is a title that made history and was mentioned by many famous newspapers around the world. "
L'Espresso won the Ferrari prize with the cover "Re Giorgio (King Giorgio)", dedicated to the Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, with the following reasoning: "It is a prophetic cover which appeared on July, 2011 when no one could imagine the turning point with  Monti (the current Italian Prime Minister) and painted the President's role as interpreter of moral suasion that he seemed to want to take and then, in effect, which he did. "
The announcement was made on the evening of Thursday, March 15th at the Triennale in Milan during a talk show hosted by Camila Raznovich in front of an audience full of big names from journalism, culture and business. The winners, Roberto Napoletano, director of Il Sole 24 Ore and Bruno Manfellotto, director of  L'Espresso, received the prizes from Camilla Lunelli, newly appointed president of Ferrari Prizes and Matteo Lunelli, president of the Trentino winery. The latter announced a third journalistic prize which will complement the two existing ones from the edition of 2013: the Ferari Prize  "The art of Italian living," reserved for foreign newspapers highlighting in an original way the value of the made in Italy brand and the Italian lifestyle.

There were toasts with Ferrari and there will be more during the two events scheduled for the opening of Museo Casa Natale Enzo Ferrari (Birthplace Museum of Enzo Ferrari) in Modena: the press conference and the ribbon cutting. The first toast occured today at the international press conference that was attended by hundreds of journalists, not only from the automotive sector, coming from all over the world. An event that has been played in the newspapers, on television and on the web in testimony to Drake, the legendary founder of the Prancing Horse,  that the myth is as strong as ever. There will be a Ferrari toast again tomorrow, Saturday, March 10, after the cutting of the inaugural ribbon. More than a thousand people are expected for this event; a procession of authorities, local, national and international, beginning with the Tourism Minister Piero Gnudi and a host of drivers who were part of the Maranello Stable. The link between Enzo Ferrari and the Trentino winery, with Gino Lunelli in particular, is of long standing, so much so that during the celebration for the 80th anniversary of the Ferrari winery Enzo Ferrari wrote about his experiences with Ferrari sparkling wine: "my pleasing acquaintance with Ferrari over the years transformed into the innocent habit of calling on them, on many occasions, until seeing now, with pleasure, Ferrari being authoritatively introduced in the festive rituals of the sporting sector. "

In the picture: Enzo Ferrari signs, in the presence of Gino Lunelli, this statement for the book dedicated to 80 years of the Ferrari winery.

Bergamo, 21 February 2012 Alfio Ghezzi is the winner of the Italian contest of the Bocuse d'Or. Yesterday the Trentino chef competed at the Accademia del Gusto (Academy of Taste) and today has been proclaimed the Italian cuisine standard bearer for the European trials of this prestigious competition.
Alfio Ghezzi arrived  in Trento in 2010 at Locanda Margon, the Ferrari Winery's restaurant, which gained its first Michelin star in 2001.
Born in 1970, Alfio Ghezzi has a Chef Diploma and studies in hospitality management, he was commis chef (chef assistant) and chef de partie (station chef) in prestigious hotels at well-known Italian locations. After several years dedicated to teaching, he returned to his original vocation of cooking.  He had the opportunity to learn this art from two great masters, Gualtiero Marchesi and Andrea Berton. With the first, he worked at the Hosteria dell'Orso in Rome and at the Casinò Les Princes in Cannes, with the second he was his sous-chef at Trussardi alla Scala in Milano.

The two dishes presented were: truffled Bresse chicken as the meat dish, liver parfait hazelnuts and carnelian cherries, ravioli with ricotta cheese, fava beans and a small finanziera "like a potato flavored with lemon, crunchy outside and soft inside" and for the fish dish steamed sole and Hollandaise sauce of trout eggs, gray shrimp, daikon, smoked eggplant and powder rosemary oil, artichokes and sole wings with soy and horseradish, sea salt liver, cockscomb, carrot and passion fruit.
"This win is very gratifying and I thank everyone who helped me to achieve it starting with my staff – declared the winner just after the proclamation - “Now I expect a tough month of preparation which means more time devoted to training and therefore more work to be entrusted to my staff  in the kitchen. My desire is to get as far as possible in the European ranking. I am motivated and ambitious and I hope to be able to satisfy everyone. "
The European competition takes place in Brussels on March 21, where the Italian winner will compete with the best European chefs.
"We hope to achieve a good ranking – says Giancarlo Perbellini, President of the competition and chef of the Perbellini restaurant in Isola Rizza in Verona -. The possibilities are there. Now we have a tough month of training, but he will be assisted by a good team. The seven chefs, who participated in the jury, are offering their assistance and each will help to concoct the garnishes of the dishes, in order to help Ghezzi arrive well prepared in Brussels. "

Ferrari Perlé Rosé 2006

The year 2006 offers us a Ferrari Perlé Rosé extremely complex and elegant, specially adapted to accompany important dishes and fine traditional Italian culinary products.

It has an antique rose color tending to copper.
At the nose it is full and intense: scents of red berries and citrus fruits blend well with remarkable freshness.
On the palate, very elegantly it asserts a refined minerality accompanied by a creamy soft and dense perlage. The typical footprint of a Pinot Noir with sweet and fruity aftertaste is well balanced by an acidity that gives impetus to the ending, leaving the mouth clean. A very seductive Rosé that repeatedly calls you back to  the glass.
